Music Monday: Epik Comback

Epik High's name has always been around, but I never listened to their songs. By the time I started listening to Korean music, they were already on an extended hiatus. Their latest album has proven that good things come to those who wait. It wins the award for album of the year in my opinion (BIG BANG's Alive and Still Alive were EPs and special editions respectively). I don't know if there was a blue moon when they were recording, because every song on the album is perfection.

I love the way they rap over different genres. Sometimes alternative rock, sometimes electronic, sometimes pop, sometimes R&B, etc. It's a great combination and reintroduces the genre in a different way. Even if you're not into rap (or listening to a song you may not understand- though Gangnam Style has pretty much proven THAT to be false) head down to Youtube and check them out.

They did a concert for Naver (EPIK HIGH 99 CLUB LIVE) introducing their songs from the latest album. Unfortunately I can't embed the videos to share, but it's worth a listen. Seriously, the title tracks aren't even the best on the album. My favorites? 사랑한다면 해선 안될 말 (Wrong) and 춥다 (It's Cold) featuring Lee Hi (whose sultry voice I will be writing about later).
